In my opinion, I guess blogs have a more personal feel. People behind them write about stuffs that are currently on their mind. Unlike websites where they have to write something to appeal more to the public.

Entrecard has really introduced me to the phenomena of dead blogs. Lot’s to blogs I drop on are updated once in a blue moon. I believe a blog should be updated at least once a week, minimum. There are many sites out there that NEVER update, call themselves a blog, but run an entrecard advertisements, and nothing else.

I update everyday. It helps me develop discipline in my writing practices. Thrice a week is good for many sites, but I don’t buy that “I’m a busy person,” BS, I write a minimum of fifteen thousand words everyday, edit, post, maintain a healthy relationship, and do my entrecard duties- I’m a busy person, and still blog daily.

If I don’t see an up[date in two weeks, I regard the blogger on hiatus, a month, i regard it as dead.

I have to say In my experience(not much but),it’s not so much the frequency but the fact that you can interact.If you don’t update your readers will dwindle and then it will become more of a web site,but its never really dead.I try to update at least three or more times a month.I would more but I need time to be creative also(paint etc.).Take it easy everyone

Well if blogs don’t update – they don’t appear in my reader which has now taken the place of my favourites list…

So website/blog whatever… just keep using your new word updation – I love it!

I think it’s a dead blog if it is about current events or family things and it hasn’t been updated in a month or so.

If the blog is informative, let’s say about health issues or how to exercise to get rid of cellulite or something.. then it turns into a website. The information will be enduring.

I don’t update my blog every day but I try. There are some days I’m just not “in there” with a decent thing to say. My readers are better off seeing nothing than reading crap.
