Big time mess up!

OOOF!

As I said in a previous post, I recently moved hosts and I was very happy with the smooth way in which the transition happened but, then, I relaised that something was amiss.

When I was posting, I could not get the visual editor to work (which still doesnt work). So, confident after my initial success, I thought I could solve this problem too.

Big Mistake.

Everything that could go wrong, did! And I am thankful that I had been careful enough to take good back ups when I was moving because I had to re-install wordpress and lost all the posts. but my previous back-up came in handy, and I lost only two posts, which is not all that bad, considering I could have lost all of them.

Anyways, for now the blog is up and working, and I have learnt my lesson of not messing around with WordPress. I am going to take a break now and hope you don’t mind if something is not working right. If you notice something that is not as it should be, please leave a comment and let me know.

The Bank Robbery- VII

(This is the seventh part of the series that began here . If you like it,  and would want to be updated whenever I post the subsequent parts, you might want to subscribe to the posts via email)

Rahul didn’t say anything, but his face had an expression that  said, “Are we talking about stealing candy from a child or a Bank Robbery?”

“It will be as easy as stealing candy from a child” Vikas said.

Rahul was startled, and he wondered if he had said his thoughts out loud. Vikas was smiling and looking at the both of them. Anyone who could see the three men at that moment would not take long to figure that Vikas was the leader of the group, and the other two were mere players.  And the players were content with being players.

Get a Mint Credit Card

Having a credit card is an absolute must in today’s world. With the Internet getting bigger and bigger every day, buying and selling things, and services, online has become more of a necessity than a facility. And if you are going to do that, you will end up needing a credit card.

So, If you are going to get a credit card, and you happen to be a citizen of the United Kingdom, and are above 18 years of age, you might as well get a MINT credit card. MINT credit card offers several features that can appeal to people with different needs. Some of these features are 0% on balance transfers until 1 January 2009 (2.5% balance transfer fee), 0% on purchases until 1 June 2008, 0% bonus offer until 1 September 2009 on balances transferred during March 2009 (2.5% fee), up to £7,500 credit limit, no annual fee, free additional card for a friend or partner, worldwide acceptance at over 24 million locations wherever you see the MasterCard sign.

Even if you already have a credit card, or have more than one, the MINT card sounds like a good option for credit card consolidation .

In addition to the above features, there is a feature that , as per the MINT website, is a real “first”. This feature is about personalising your credit card. Once you have got your credit card, you can submit your favourite image to MINT, and they will use that to create a personalised credit card for you. Doesn’t sound bad at all.

Write your best post

Before you read any further,  take a moment’s break to think about the post that you think is one of the best that you ever wrote.

Now, where was this post written?

I think, more likely than not, the seeds of that post were sown in your mind when you were no where near a computer. You might  be with your friends, or family, or maybe just alone talking a walk, or doing whatever it is that you like to do.  Then you get an idea and you think – you know- you are going to blog about it. The idea begins to take  shape till you can almost see it as a blog post.

When you finally write it down, it is like giving the final touches to your work of art.

For example, one my better posts Writer’sBlock – A System’s Approach  was written in my mind long before I actually posted it.

So, what I am trying to say here is that the secret of writing great posts does not lie in sitting on your computer all day long, but getting away from it as much as you can.

A Conspiracy

It looks like time, work and the month of November are conspiring to prevent me from getting to my target of 50,000 words for NaNoWriMo this year.

What is worse is that the conspiracy seems to be working. It is day 13 and my word count stands at a dismal 3,300. I really hope that all of you out there are doing better than that. Actually, I hope you are doing much better than that.

But, I also think all is not lost for me either. There are 17 days to go and about 46,700 more words to write. That means I have to write about 2, 750 words every day from today till the 30th, and my task will be done.
