Then Vikas came back and yelled, “If anyone of you still feels like a hero, you can tell me right now, so that I can end your sad and sorry life without further wait. We are here for the money and we will leave with the money, we don’t want to hurt any of you unless you give us a reason to do so.”
Rahul was shocked at what Vikas seemed to have done. It seemed to me that he would faint, but Vikas quickly got near him and whispered in his ears, “I didn’t kill him, don’t worry.”
Then he continued in the loud tone,”Take these handcuffs and cuff each of them. Vikas took the gun from Rahul, who then cuffed and gagged the captives. Over the gag, Vikas taped their mouths shut. It was clear that Vikas knew what he was doing, and that none of the captured would be able to emit a sound or break free for a long time.
“Drag them into the forest, and tie each of them to a different tree… tie them well,” Vikas said to Rahul.
Rahul nodded in assent, and quickly began to do as he was told. He wanted to get this over with, as soon as possible. His nervousness was increasing by the minute and every moment was passing like an year, and every sound he heard, he thought, was of an approaching vehicle or the sound of men approaching.
Vikas caught hold of one of the two security guards, and Rahul the other and before they began to drag them away, Vikas locked Ramesh inside the jeep with his hands cuffed and mouth gagged. To make it look real, he kicked Ramesh hard and despite the gag, ramesh let out a scream of deep agony, but the scream died inside his mouth.
Quickly the security guards were tied to two trees quite far from each other. Then Vikas dragged the driver back on to the road.
“I told you we wouldn’t be killing anyone, I just pressed the gun close to his ear and fired. I think the kicks that I gave him on the road coupled with the shock and the sound of the gunshot made him pass out. I had handcuffed him and gagged him, just in case he regained consciousness before we were done with the rest of them.”
Rahul finally smiled, and that was a relief fo Vikas too. Then they proceeded to tie Ramesh and the driver to some trees too. Not a word was said between any of them now. Vikas tied Ramesh, and he made sure that he tied him tightest of them all, for he didn’t want him to be the first to escape. Then they quickly started the vehicle, the keys to which were still in the ignition and took off. Vikas was driving, while Rahul got into the back to check the money.
“Its all in here, I don’t know how much it is, but it does look a lot.” Rahul cried from the back of the jeep. He finally sounded happy.
“See, I told you we could do it,” Vikas said. In his mind he was wondering that the hardest part is not yet over.
“How are we going to transfer this money without making anyone suspicious?” Vikas wonderd.
