I have always wanted to attend a writer’s conference, but living and working in a small, remote town has ensured that my wish to attend one remains just that – a wish.
Today, however, as I was browsing the Internet I came across the Annual Muse Online Writers Conference. The site claims to be the only free conference of its kind, and further adds, “No matter where you live, what you write, at what point you are in your writing career, you’ll find a workshop that fits your needs during our week long conference”
The conference will be held from October 11, 2010 to October 17, 2010, and the registration for the conference is now open. Though the site administrators do ask for donations, the registration for the conference is free up to august 15, 2010, after which a fee of USD 5 will be charged for the registration.
Till now 805 people have registered for the conference, and based on the 2009 testimonials posted on the site, it appears that the online conference could turn out to be informative, and useful.
The proof of the cake, however, is in the pudding, and therefore I have registered for the 2010 conference. By the end of October, I will know first hand about how good, or bad, the conference is. If you, like me, have wanted t o be a part of something like this, but haven’t been able to do so because of lack of time, this could be a good thing.
Do let me know if you register for the conference.
What do you think?
