Finding the Right Temperature of Water

bathroom-1198588Winter is approaching again, and one of the joys of winters is taking a bath with hot water, isn’t it?

Taking a bath, or a shower, with hot water, however, brings along with it one of the biggest challenges that the human kind has to face on a daily basis – getting the water to the exact temperature level that the body is comfortable with. It’s always either too hot, or too cold.

I, for one, struggle with this problem every day.

Take Care of the Little Things

puzzle-pieces-1-1426443As I turned on the car’s ignition, nothing happened.

The car should have started, and we should have been on our way home, but nothing happened. It was a few minutes before I realised that I had left the lights of the car on and the battery had run out of juice.

Not one to be easily fazed by problems, I set out to find a battery and a couple of wires to jumpstart my car. Without boring you with details, let me tell you that I arranged both the things within a few minutes.

Blogging (Writing) Tips from Seth Godin’s Blog!

seth-godin-shot-of-marketing-perspectiveI don’t remember the exact number, but I have been following Seth Godin’s blog for a few years now. He has a blog that breaks a few rules of blogging – the blog is hosted on typepad and does not have comments enabled – yet his blog’s twitter account has more than 500 thousand followers. I am sure most of us would be happy with one third of that number.

I have often wondered what it is that makes his blog work, and I have come up with a few things that he does that make people fall in love with his blog. I think these can be used by bloggers, and writers alike  to improve their craft.

Five Must-see TED Talks for Writers!

imagesIf you are reading this, I am sure you know what TED talks are. But, if you don’t, let me quote a few lines from their about page, “TED is a nonprofit devoted to spreading ideas, usually in the form of short, powerful talks (18 minutes or less). TED began in 1984 as a conference where Technology, Entertainment and Design converged, and today covers almost all topics — from science to business to global issues — in more than 100 languages.” 

So, now that we all know what TED talks are, let us not waste any more time and delve into the world of these wonderful talks. I have been following TED talks for a while now, and I have also been part of two TEDx (independently organised TED-like events) events till now. Many of the talks have inspired me when I needed the inspiration, so I am sharing some of my favourite talks with you.
