One or many…Many or one?

One or MAny

This is one question that almost every blogger comes across as soon as the first blog is a few months old. The reason for starting a new blog could be a new idea that or a newly registered domain name.

But, I often wonder if it is a good idea to have many blogs or should a blogger restrict him/herself to just one blog.

I faced the question for the first time when I decided to have a blog on my own domain. At that time the question I faced was : should I move my existing blog from blogger to here, or should I start a new one? After deliberating on the question for a while, I finally chose to start a new blog, and keep the old one too.

Now, almost an year into my new blog, I think I have an answer to the “many or one” question.

That would mean that he would be asked more questions, and he will have to invent  more lies, and the more lies there are the more weak our story becomes. His role is to make sure that there is no way by which the bank guys can get the news out in time, and that’s all he will do. If they change anything, he can warn us. It is best that he remain our inside man, weak as he is.”

And, then, there was a sound of an approaching vehicle, and Vikas quickly got up.

“Ok! The time is come, help me roll the stone down.” Vikas cried.

Quickly, Vikas and Rahul rolled the huge stone on to the middle of the road, and it was evident that it was a job harder than Vikas had thought… but they accomplished the task just in time.

“Wear this mask, and hide behind the bushes… and under no condition use my name or yours, don’t come out till everyone in the car is out of the car, or better still wait till I have come out and then follow me.”

Soon, the walking bore result and there, sitting on a big rock, was Vikas. He was looking a bit impatient.

“You are late! We should make our preparation…if Ramesh can’t hold them long enough, they will be here any moment now and if they get here without us prepared for them, it will be a waste of time and effort,” Vikas said, a bit irritated.

I felt that Rahul wanted them to come now, so that they would be caught unprepared and the whole adventure would come to an end. But Murphy was not that wrong after all; when something can go wrong it usually does and , for Rahul, the jeep with the money did not come.

“I have chosen this spot because if we stand near that tree we can see the road as it bends around the hill… and that gives us a fifteen minute window to be ready for them. To stop them, I think we should roll that boulder on to the road,” Vikas said pointing at a big rock lying on the side of the road.

Google PR Vs. Alexa Ranking II – Monetizing

There are two kinds of bloggers that cannot afford to ignore either Google PageRank or Alexa ranking: The blogger who plans to monetize his site, and the blogger who likes to brag about his blog. That, I feel, covers most bloggers.

These days a lot of people start a blog for the sole purpose of making money. They hear stories about bloggers making money and they want to do the same.

In some ways, it is google , with it’s Adsense program, that started this trend. When a couple of years ago I started my first blog on blogger, Adsense was the first line of code that I added to my blog. There were three reasons for that :

Rahul was clearly amazed to see Vikas like that and, I am sure, he also realized the inadequacy of his own disguise.

“Don’t you think we might need a vehicle for this?” Rahul enquired.

“No we don’t, a vehicle can be traced, and its hard to find a vehicle that can’t be trace. If we have to, we will use the vehicle they are coming in.”

“When were you planning to tell us this?”

“As soon as you asked me the question,” Vikas laughed.
